Warning -

The Grand Master has lifted the suspension of crusading efforts due to the plague.

What can brethren do to continue protect themselves and others?

The Brotherhood recommends using traditional common sense with travel and gatherings.

If you must travel:

  • Avoid contact with people who are plagued.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands as well as wearing helmets fondled by dirt hands.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (the duration of a Hail Mary and the Lord’s Prayer).

It is especially important to clean hands after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose. If you use your cape or surcoat to catch your coughs and sneezes, be sure to place them in a bag upon removal and keep separate from your immediate area. Have cleaned as soon as your pilgrimage is completed.

Avoid traveling if you are with plague.

Stay in your preceptory, monitor your health, and practice social distancing (warrior monks are supposed to refrain from socializing by the Rule) for 14 days after you return from travel.

Stay well. Deus vult!
